A dear friend and I were walking down King’s Road, on the way to the opening of a new friend’s art exhibition. It was an icy cold December night, and the dazzling lights of a new gelateria shone out, promising far more warmth than the product on offer. What an unusual time of year to open an ice cream parlour.
